Lovell at first sight’ for a couple who fell for 3 bedroom apartment at Trinity Walk
Irina Carr and Anton Skolovskyy were amazed when they found out they could afford their dream home.
The couple, who have a 12 year old son Alex, had just viewed a three bedroom apartment at Lovell Homes’ Trinity Walk development in Woolwich.
The spacious contemporary design stood out for the couple, who viewed a number of apartments in four different areas of London in one day. It seems they saved the best until last as the property at Trinity Walk was their final viewing of the day.
Irina said: “Once we made the decision to buy a property, we wasted no time in scouring the internet for possible developments and made a shortlist of those we wanted to go and see. Trinity Walk was our last appointment but as soon as we walked in we knew it was our favourite and where we could make a home here.”
Irina explained: “I never imagined that we would be able to afford to buy a home in London, but we saved hard and I was able to put my work bonus towards the deposit. We also took advantage of the Help to Buy Scheme and we saved £15,000 in stamp duty fees on the £500,000 apartment.”
Previously, the couple had been living in a rental property in Hackney. Russian born Irina works an Administrative Assistant for a Canadian investment company in Victoria and Anton, originally from the Ukraine, is a web developer; both are currently working from home.
What impressed the couple was how spacious and airy the apartment felt. Anton added: “The layout is light and bright with three good sized bedrooms, so we can use one as an office and the second bedroom is perfect for Alex. Having two large balconies just adds to the sense of space and feels like extra living space and I love the huge window in the master bedroom.”
The couple liked the open plan kitchen and Irina said: “We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kitchen fittings and details like soft closing doors, an integrated and very large dishwasher, fridge and oven.”
Lovell Homes has paid particular attention to including plenty of built in storage space. Irina said: “We have two very large storage cupboards and are thinking we may turn one into a walk-in wardrobe.”
When it comes to the support they received from the Lovell sales office, Irina cannot praise Emma highly enough. “She is just a lovely person,” said Irina. “She was always helpful, quick to reply to emails or return a call and would even contact us on her day off. The financial advisor – Nick she suggested turned out to be the most efficient person ever; the quickest person at replying to emails I’ve ever come across.”
Neither Irina nor Anton knew Woolwich and the local area before moving and with lockdown 2 still in force, they’ve not had an opportunity to explore a great deal. However, they are glad to have both Tesco and Sainsbury’s on their doorstep. The DLR station s only a six minute walk from their flat and London Bridge is a 20 minute journey.
The couple are looking forward to discovering more of what Woolwich has to offer and exploring the markets, community events and walks nearby. In the meantime, they’ve ordered new furniture and bits and pieces for their new home, some of which is being made to order and will not arrive until March. Irina said: “I can’t wait to have everything the way we like it. I’m impatient, but the main thing is we have our home now. It will be worth the wait to add the finishing touches.
