Location was prime reason for Gillian buying at Trinity Walk
Two weeks before the coronavirus lockdown, she moved into her £443,000 home taking advantage of the London Help to Buy scheme.
Gillian, who previously lived in Romford, was considering a move to south east London, within easy reach of her office in Canary Wharf. However, it was after visiting a friend, who had moved into a new build property in Woolwich, she decided that this was the place to buy.
Gillian recalls the next steps: “My friend really sowed the seed to move. I loved Woolwich and I started the property search in earnest. I wanted a new build, partly because of Help to Buy and also because there’s something really nice about moving into a brand-new place.”
Gillian, who works at KPMG in Canary Wharf as a technology consultant, found Lovell Homes’ Trinity Walk as part of her on-line home buying research.
“I visited Trinity Walk and it ticked many boxes. The location was great – only five minutes from the station with a commute of around 35 minutes to Canary Wharf. When Crossrail opens I’ll be able to get door to door in half that time.
“I researched the area and visited a lot of developments. I wanted a proper two-bedroom apartment. After eight years of living in two-bedroom flat I didn’t want a smaller home and that was the problem. Most of the two-bedroom flats around the area are either what they call ‘one and half bedrooms’ or they are very expensive. Trinity Walk offered the best value for money.”
There was someone else who had to like Trinity Walk for the move to be considered a complete success. Gillian’s cat Missy who’s now happy in her new surroundings. “She’s settled in pretty well so no complaints there.”
“Having outside space and particularly the balcony has been a real bonus during this lockdown period. I am surprised how much I use it. It’s so nice to sit outside. We also have a terrace onto the central courtyard which is amazing.”
“I didn’t realise how quiet it would be here. We are off the main road and Woolwich has so much to offer. Having everything on my doorstep within walking distance of shops, restaurants and coffee shops is fantastic.”
Lea Hudson, sales manager at Lovell Homes London, said: “We are delighted Gillian and Missy have settled in so well into their new home. Many of our buyers are delighted with the size and space of our apartments. We are very competitively priced and are conducting viewings, by appointment, again.”
Trinity Walk is a collection of 445 new build one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Each new home has been built to maximise space and light as well as being finished with a high specification ensuring high levels of comfort, security and quality.
With prices for a one bed luxury apartment starting at £360,000, first-time buyers are finding they can afford to buy at Trinity Walk with the London Help to Buy scheme. A five per cent deposit is all buyers need and with interest rates being historically low, it’s a very attractive opportunity.
