Dog owners at Trinity Walk in Woolwich have found a new ‘leash’ in life by meeting up for walks with neighbours.
Residents have got to know each other in lockdown through walking their pets at the Lovell Homes’ dog-friendly development. The community has come together to form firm friendships between people from different walks of life with a variety of dog breeds.
Roseanne Bullen, sales and marketing director at Lovell Homes, explained: “We’re delighted to hear how neighbours with dogs in Trinity Walk have come together during lockdown to walk together and develop friendships.
“The development is ideal for dog owners because it’s surrounded by landscaped gardens and is so close to a number of parks and green spaces for pleasant walks.”
Post-production manager Ron Ibarra, 32 and husband Lento Tang, 31, a research analyst, bought a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a balcony at Trinity Walk.
But they’ve only got to know their neighbours since getting their pup, a Japanese Shiba Inu called Loba, who’s now seven months old.
Ron explained: “Before we got Loba five months ago we didn’t know any of our neighbours. But now I know a lot of my neighbours and we have a group of dog owners who meet up. I meet some every day for walks so our dogs can play.
“We do try to arrange a lot of walks and to socialise the dogs. It gets us out as well and it really does feel like a community.
“We’ve been wanting a dog for a while and it seemed the right choice at the time because we’re home all the time. We were on the wait list for over a year.
“The development is really dog friendly as there are a lot of green spaces nearby and the landscaping is nice. We have quite a few options for walks. We can walk to the Royal Artillery Barracks in five minutes, the river and also Charlton Park within about 10 minutes.
“We go out for walks and a coffee around the area with other dog owners which has been great. It’s not something I would have done without Loba.
“We have all sort of dogs at Trinity Walk – different breeds and sizes. Our dog is quite an unusual breed but coincidentally we have three of them in the development.
“There are also greyhounds, a lot of sausage dogs and a ton of tiny dogs. We do see a lot of puppies around. “We chose this development as it was quiet, had lots of space and was affordable. But it’s also so convenient as shops and restaurants are close by. As well as parks and open spaces it’s also really close to the station.
Trinity Walk is a collection of 445 new build one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Each new home has been built to maximise space and light as well as being finished with a high specification.
