When Sahid Diallo looked into buying a property in London, the compliance Project Manager who works for a national bank, quickly calculated what was the best value.
The 31-year-old, who works in Canary Wharf, has just moved into a stylish Lovell Homes’ one-bedroom apartment at Trinity Walk in Woolwich.
Sahid explained his reason for choosing a new build: “Initially, I was prepared to look at both new build and second-hand properties, but when I did the calculations, by taking advantage of London’s Help to Buy scheme, I quickly realised that buying into a new development was a more affordable and practical choice.
“I looked at quite a few properties online, but actually based on my budget and the fact that I wanted to invest in a property that is going to benefit from being in a Crossrail hotspot, it turned out that Woolwich was the perfect location with new build flats available to buy,” further explained Sahid.
Sahid bought his one-bedroom apartment, priced at £355,000, on the third floor at Trinity Walk. He said: “It is a really decent size apartment and the open-plan layout appeals to me. My girlfriend, Bintou, will be moving in with me in November, so the fact that it is spacious with well-designed storage will work well when there are two of us living here.”
He added: “Having a separate utility room is a great practical feature, so the kitchen is just a cooking area and the balcony leading from the open plan living/dining room creates even more flowing space – great for entertaining.”
At the moment, Sahid is mainly working from home, but when he does need to go into the office a couple of days a week, getting to Canary Wharf from Woolwich is easy either using the bus or the DLR (17 minutes journey time) from Woolwich Arsenal. Of course, there’s always the Thames Clipper for a more scenic trip.
Sahid commented: “I really didn’t know Woolwich as an area before moving, but now that I’m here I’m really enjoying exploring new places. At the weekend, Woolwich Common is perfect for relaxing outside. There are plenty of shops, a big supermarket and amenities all within a quick stroll from my home. I know Bintou is going to enjoy wandering around the local Woolwich markets. We’re fortunate to have a wide selection of cafes, coffee shops and eateries to try out.”
Roseanne Bullen, Lovell Homes Sales and Marketing Director added: “The great news for buyers is we have apartments you can move into straight away, with no waiting for them to be built. Come and book your viewing now!”
Lovell Homes’ collection of contemporary homes at Trinity Walk includes one, two and three bedroom apartments and prices start at £355,000 for a one bedroom apartment.
